Manufacturing Engineer

Description

 

The successful candidate will perform process engineering for both fabricated and machined parts, as well as assemblies.

 

  • Assist the engineering department in design and tolerances for manufacturability.
  • Design or specify machining, fabrication and assembly tooling as needed.
  • Assist the machining, welding, and assembly departments with daily trouble shooting, scrap reduction, increasing efficiency, tooling, and fixture design modifications.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Unigraphics 3-D solid CAD system and or Unigraphics Solid Edge CAD package.
  • Work experience in manufacturing time estimation and measurement.

Description


Responsible for customer assistance and recommendations in the area of job estimates, machine requirements, and field advice whenever in the best interest of the customer and the company can be served. Work on the details of responding to tender documents from customers and assist the Product Support Group and Parts group in parts stocking and Customer Support Agreements when needed.

Assistant Parts Manager

Description

This position provides repair parts support to our customers and reports directly to the Parts Manager.

               

  • Responsible for internal parts expediting and parts order management
  • Technical assistance in the development of repair parts lists;
  • Developing recommended spares requirements and rebuild parts requirements
  • Fielding day-to-day parts enquiries from our customers

Requirements                  

  • A technical background together with previous Parts Management experience and computer skills including Microsoft Office applications are essential requirements
  • Heavy mobile equipment service or OEM experience with Dealer Networks would be a plus.

  • Applicant must welding experience, have or be able to obtain a AWS/CWI certificate, interpret structural, machining and fabrication drawings and have a thorough knowledge of welding codes and procedures working with a variety of structural steels and welding processes.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in assembly of heavy machinery or heavy equipment repair.
  •  Must be able to read blueprints and determine assembly sequence.

  •  2 or 4 year machinist apprenticeship graduate; or 2 year manufacturing Degree; or documentable equivalent experience.

 

  •  At least 3 years of hands on machining experience with large fabricated or cast steel parts.

 

  •  Experience operating a large CNC horizontal boring mill, and, or, a large CNC flatbed lathe  with soft jaws and steady rest.

 

  •  Must be able to do own setups on above machine tools, and understand NC programs.

 

  •  Must be able to read modern manufacturing drawings with geometric dimensioning and  tolerancing.

 

  •  Must be able to inspect own work.

 

  •  Must be a highly motivated energetic self starter; able to work accurately and safely at a fast  pace.

  •  Working knowledge of electrical components and 3 phase power is desirable.
